Week 21 - Professional Development

Total jobs applied to: 3 (+3)

For Common Art I was asked to list three artistic goals I wanted to achieve by the end of FIEA, one of the largest ones was creating a consistent brand throughout all of my work-related social medias. I decided to start tackling this problem this week by doing two main things: updating resumes across all sites so they were consistent & linking together all of the social medias that get used.

I chose to use LinkTree as a host for the primary compiling as it is very user friendly, free, and lets me customize my page as I see fit. Here i linked my portfolio and LinkedIn as the primary and secondary, my twitter as the tertiary, and my Gumroad and Github as the run-off. I am considering changing out the Github with Youtube, however as I write out more scripts for class I think it would be useful to keep everything together.

After compiling everything together, I realized my ArtStation hadn't been updated on the resume side of things since January of last year - this has been fixed.

I updated the branding on my Youtube to match with the rest of my social media. This is primarily where I post the videos for my projects over the years and as a result has a large difference in thumbnail quality. Maybe I will go back to update this, however I find the older thumbnail style somewhat endearing and unworthy the effort to change when there is 207 videos total.

New thumbnails & titles versus old ones

Somewhat of a side mission for this week was to set up a Gumroad account so I could post/share some of the more basic VFX & tools I've been making. With one of my larger projects being the building generator, some of my education-related friends, who are unfamiliar with Houdini, wanted to check it out and see how the software works. I decided to set it up in this manner so I could really get an idea of what the process is for making and sharing tools with people who don't know you personally.

from what I'm gathering - It's harder than anticipated.
